Prof. John Kay

Prof. John Kay is a renowned economist and author celebrated for his contributions to public policy and economic thought. He is a Fellow of the British Academy, the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and St John's College, Oxford. Over the course of his distinguished career, he has held prestigious roles, including professor at London Business School, director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and visiting professor at the London School of Economics. Prof. Kay has significantly shaped economic policy, most notably through his leadership of the Kay Review of UK Equity Markets and Long-Term Decision-Making, commissioned by the UK government in 2011. His influential recommendations have helped align financial markets with long-term economic goals. An accomplished writer, Prof. Kay is the author of several highly regarded books, including “The Long and the Short of It”, “Other People's Money”, and his most recent work, “Cooperation in the 21st Century”, which examines the role of collaboration in addressing global challenges. Prof. Kay studied economics at the University of Edinburgh and earned a DPhil from Nuffield College, Oxford.
