Angela Sun

Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium

Angela Sun is a principal at the Hyland Group, where she invests in and advises early-stage to growth companies and family offices. An experienced leader across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, she also serves on the Board of Directors of The Western Union Company, Cushman & Wakefield, Maxim Crane Works (an Apollo portfolio company), and Kero Sports. Previously, Ms. Sun was Chief Operating Officer and Partner at Alpha Edison, an LA-based venture capital firm. Earlier, she spent ten years at Bloomberg LP, most recently as Global Head of Strategy and Corporate Development, where she spearheaded emerging technology initiatives and led M&A and commercial partnerships across the company’s media, financial products, enterprise, and data businesses. She also oversaw Bloomberg Institute, serving 1,500 universities worldwide. From 2008 to 2014, she was Chief‐of‐Staff to Bloomberg’s CEO, leading corporate-wide strategic planning, new business development, and growth initiatives in emerging markets and Asia. Before joining Bloomberg LP, Ms. Sun served as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Bloomberg Administration and held roles at McKinsey & Company, J.P. Morgan, and the Henry L. Stimson Center (as a Visiting Associate). A graduate summa cum laude of Harvard College, she also holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School. She remains closely connected to Harvard, serving as Vice Chair of the Harvard Gift Committee, Class Chair of the John Harvard Society, and as a Director Emeritus of Women’s World Banking.
