Johannes Bohnen

Johannes Bohnen is the Founder and Managing Director of BOHNEN Public Affairs, a leading firm in strategic communication, political analysis, and campaigning. In addition to his leadership role at BOHNEN Public Affairs, Mr Bohnen has held several prominent positions, including speechwriter for the Federal Minister for Education and Research and spokesman for CDU Brandenburg. Before founding BOHNEN Public Affairs in 2015, Mr Bohnen worked as the Head of the Government & Institutions business at PLATO Communication, and as Managing Director at Scholz & Friends Berlin, where he established the firm’s PR/Public Affairs arm, Scholz & Friends Agenda. Earlier in his career, he held roles at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), the NATO Fellowship Program, the WEU Institute in Paris, the Bertelsmann Foundation, and the office of the foreign policy spokesman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag. Mr. Bohnen holds a PhD from Oxford University. He has also studied at Harvard University, the University of Bonn, and Georgetown University, where he earned a master’s degree in international relations.
