Cecilie Hellestveit

Cecilie Hellestveit is a Norwegian lawyer, social scientist, and author specialising in international humanitarian law and armed conflicts. She has conducted research with institutions such as the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, and the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), focusing on the laws of war, human rights, and Middle Eastern geopolitics. She also serves as an advisor at the Norwegian Institution for Human Rights, is a member of the Council on Ethics for the Government Pension Fund Global, and has contributed to governmental commissions on extremism. Ms Hellestveit is the author of several notable works, including “Syria: A Great War in a Small World”. She holds a Ph.D. in international humanitarian law from the University of Oslo.
