Prof. Julian Kölbel
Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium
Julian Kölbel has been an Assistant Professor of Sustainable Finance at the University of St.Gallen since 2022. His research focuses on the causes of disagreements regarding ESG ratings and analyses their impact on financial markets and the economy. Prof Kölbel is also a research affiliate at MIT Sloan, where he co-founded the Aggregate Confusion Project. In addition to his academic work, he has served on the investment committee of the Swiss pension fund Abendrot since 2019. Prof Kölbel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from ETH Zurich, a Master’s degree in Water Science, Policy, and Management from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in Business and Finance from ETH Zurich.
