Alexander Friedman

Alex Friedman has served as CEO and Co-Founder of Novata since 2021, a public benefit corporation dedicated to fostering the widespread adoption of universally-defined metrics to prevent the fragmentation of ESG standards and assist companies in improving their ESG reporting. Prior to Novata, Mr Friedman held various leadership roles, including Chief Financial Officer of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where he established its social impact fund, Global Chief Investment Officer of UBS, and Chief Executive Officer of GAM Holding, a publicly listed alternatives asset manager. Furthermore, he co-founded Jackson Hole Economics and currently serves on the board of Franklin Templeton. Mr Friedman holds a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a Doctor of Law from Columbia Law School.
