Carlos Alvarez Pereira

Carlos Alvarez Pereira has served as Secretary General of the Club of Rome since December 2023. In his role, he advances the organization’s mission to drive cultural transformation towards equitable human well-being and a healthy biosphere, building on over 30 years of experience across research, innovation, entrepreneurship and business leadership. Previously, he served as Vice President of the Club of Rome and founded the Innaxis Foundation & Research Institute, focusing on complex systems and sustainability. Earlier in his career, he held multiple CEO and chairman roles in technology and consulting firms, including Telenium and Texelia, and led international advisory and mobility platforms. In addition, he serves on advisory boards such as the International Bateson Institute and UNESCO’s Chair on Global Understanding for Sustainability. He holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
