Ruth Metzler-Arnold

Ruth Metzler-Arnold is the President of Swiss Olympic and a seasoned leader with extensive experience in politics, business, and governance. She previously served as a member of the Swiss Federal Council, where she led the Federal Department of Justice and Police (EJPD) and held the position of Vice President of the Swiss Confederation. Before that, she was a member of the Government Council of the Canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden, serving as Finance Director. Ms Metzler-Arnold has held various leadership roles in the private sector, including positions at Novartis as Head of Investor Relations and General Counsel for Novartis France, as well as a career in audit and advisory at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has also served on multiple corporate and foundation boards, contributing her expertise in governance, crisis management, and transformation processes. In addition to her leadership roles, Ms Metzler-Arnold previously served as President of the Swiss Sports Aid Foundation. She studied law at the University of Fribourg and is a certified public accountant.
