Karla Godoy

Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium

Karla Godoy is the Executive Secretary of Sustainability for the State of Pernambuco, where she leads efforts to advance sustainability and climate action. Her work focuses on supporting the sustainable development of emerging economies, with particular attention to the needs of vulnerable populations, including women, children, and traditional communities. She previously worked as an analyst of economic and financial projects for industries in Brazil and has published academic research on topics including political representation, UN peace missions and sexual crimes, and sustainable development as a democratic measure. Ms Godoy holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in Political Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco, as well as a second master’s degree in Development Practice from the University of Minnesota, where she was a Fulbright Scholar.
