Anna Penido

Anna Penido is currently the Executive Director for the Centro Lemann for Leadership and Equity in Education. Prior to that she was the director of the Inspirare Institute (2012-2020), and contributed to the creation of the Brazilian curriculum standards. She was the chief of the UNICEF field office for the States of São Paulo and Minas Gerais (2007-2010) and founded and directed CIPÓ – Comunicação Interativa (1999-2007), a non-governmental organization dedicated to guaranteeing the rights of children, adolescents and young people through the educational use of communication means and technologies. She participated in the Advanced Leadership Initiative at Harvard University (2011), the Human Rights Training Program at Columbia University (1998), and the Thematic Residency on Youth as Agents of Transformative Change at The Rockfeller Foundation Bellagio Center (2018). Anna is an Ashoka fellow since 2002.
