Timo Löyttyniemi

Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium

Timo Löyttyniemi is the CEO of the State Pension Fund in Finland (VER), which manages 23 billion euros in assets. From 2015 to 2019, Mr Löyttyniemi served as Vice Chair of the Single Resolution Board (SRB, EU Agency) in Brussels, overseeing over 70 billion euros in its Resolution Fund. Prior to this role, he held various positions in banks and investment banking. Mr Löyttyniemi also served on various boards of companies, foundations, and investment committees, and he is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Economic Education. Additionally, he is a university lecturer, focusing on financial stability. Mr Löyttyniemi holds a PhD in Economics and attended the St. Gallen Symposium in 1986 as a Leader of Tomorrow, having qualified through the Essay Competition.
