Gloria Guevara Manzo joined the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Tourism as Chief Special Advisor to the Minister in May 2021. Her role involves supporting the Kingdom’s ongoing transformation as outlined in its 2030 vision, fostering sustainable tourism locally and globally. Prior to this, Her Excellency Guevara Manzo served as President and CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) from 2017 to 2021, representing the global travel and tourism private sector, a sector responsible for 300 million jobs worldwide. Her leadership guided WTTC through its most challenging period – the Covid-19 pandemic. Between 2010 and 2012, Her Excellency held the position of Minister of Tourism in Mexico, steering the creation of Mexico’s “National Agreement for Tourism” in 2011. She previously held board positions with companies such as HSBC Mexico and Playa Hotels & Resorts. Furthermore, she served as Special Advisor on Government Affairs to Harvard University’s School of Public Health and contributed to the Future of Travel & Tourism Global Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum. Her Excellency earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Anahuac University and completed her MBA at Kellogg School of Business, Northwestern University.
