Prof. James Davis

James Davis is a Professor for Political Science with a special focus on international politics at the University of St. Gallen, where he has been teaching since 2005. He is also the Director of the Institute for Political Science (IPW-HSG) and the Chair of the Centre for Security Economics and Technology (CSET-IPW-HSG), which was established in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (VBS). Prior to his current position, he served as the Dean of the School of Economics and Political Science from 2015 to 2019 and as the Vice-Dean of the same school from 2012 to 2015. Prof. Davis' research interests include international security, methods of political science, political psychology, and transatlantic relations. He holds a PhD and a Master's degree in Political Science from Columbia University in New York and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Michigan State University.
