Dominic Barton

Dominic Barton is Conference Co-Chairman of the St. Gallen Symposium and has been Chair of the Board of Rio Tinto since 2022. Additionally, Mr. Barton is Chair of LeapFrog Investments and Chancellor of the University of Waterloo. Prior to his current roles, Mr. Barton served as Canadian Ambassador to the People's Republic of China from 2019-2021 and Global Managing Director of McKinsey & Company from 2009 – 2018. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Economics from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
