Prof. Thomas J. Jordan

Thomas J. Jordan has been Chairman of the Governing Board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) since 2012. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and of the Steering Committee of the Financial Stability Board (FSB). Additionally, he is the Governor of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for Switzerland, Chairman of the G10 Central Bank Counterfeit Deterrence Group, a member of the Advisory Board of the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich, a member of the Board of Trustees at the ETH Zurich Foundation, as well as an honorary professor at the University of Basel. Mr. Jordan joined the SNB in 1997 as an Economic Advisor after completing his PhD in economics from the University of Bern in 1993 and conducting post-doctoral research at Harvard University.
