Bogolo Kenewendo

Bogolo Kenewendo has served as Cabinet Minister of Minerals and Energy for the Government of Botswana since 2024. In this role, she oversees national policy on minerals and energy and contributes her expertise in economic development and public policy. Prior to this, she served as Regionalization Director and Special Advisor to the Climate Change High-Level Champions and as Managing Director of Kenewendo Advisory, an economic and development consultancy focused on policy analysis and economic reform in Africa. Earlier in her career, she served as Botswana’s Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry and as a Specially Elected Member of Parliament in the National Assembly. In addition, she has held leadership roles including Chairperson of Bank Gaborone and is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development. She previously worked as a trade economist with the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ghana and as an economist and consultant in Botswana. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Botswana and a Master’s degree in International Economics from the University of Sussex and completed executive education at the Harvard Kennedy School.
