Dietmar Grichnik

Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium

Dietmar Grichnik has served as Vice-President for Innovation & Quality at the University of St. Gallen (HSG) since 2024. He is also Full Professor of Entrepreneurship and Technology Management and Director of the University’s Institute of Technology Management (ITEM). Earlier in his career, he completed a banking apprenticeship and worked in banking before moving into academia; he held professorships at the Universities of Witten/Herdecke and WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management before joining HSG in 2010. He is active as an investor and startup mentor, serves on boards such as Switzerland Innovation, and supports entrepreneurial initiatives through the HSG Center for Entrepreneurship. He holds a Dr. rer. pol. (PhD) in Business Administration and Business Education from the University of Cologne.
