Philipp Peyman-Engel

Philipp Peyman-Engel has served as Editor-in-Chief of the weekly newspaper Jüdische Allgemeine since September 2023. Jüdische Allgemeine is Germany’s leading nationwide Jewish weekly, published in Berlin by the Central Council of Jews in Germany. In his role, he leads the newsroom and public voice of the paper amid intensified debate on antisemitism and Middle East coverage. Honours include “Editor-in-Chief of the Year” and the Ricarda-Huch Prize for Essay Writing. He studied philosophy and literature/media practice in Bochum and Duisburg.
