Prof. Tomas Casas Klett

Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium

Prof. Tomas Casas Klett is a theorist of sustainable value creation especially in relation to the Elite Theory of Economic Development, a permanent faculty at the University of St.Gallen’s School of Management (IIDM-HSG) and the Director of its China Competence Center. He also serves as the co-director of both the annual Elite Quality Index (EQx), a global political economy measurement on the sustainable value creation of nations, and its counterpart, the Value Creation Ratings (VCr) of firms. Additionally, he collaborates with the St. Gallen Symposium on its narrative space initiative. Prof. Casas Klett has developed innovative teaching formats, including in his international executive education programmes. Moreover, he is a Visiting Professor at Tsinghua SEM, Fudan University FDSM, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He graduated with honors from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, obtaining in parallel a Japanese language degree from Sophia University in Tokyo. Prof. Casas Klett later earned a Master's degree in Management from Fudan University in Shanghai and a PhD in Economics from the University of St.Gallen.
