Prof. Oliver Gassmann

Prof. Oliver Gassmann is Full Professor of Technology Management and Director of the Institute of Technology Management at the University of St. Gallen, a position he has held since 2002. In this role, he focuses on innovation management, business model design, platform economy and R&D management, teaching across bachelor, master, MBA and executive education programs. Prior to joining academia, he led Corporate Research at Schindler Group until 2002. Gassmann is one of the most cited scholars in the fields of business models and R&D management and has published more than 800 academic and practitioner publications. His book The Business Model Navigator became an international bestseller. He has also served as visiting faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, Stanford University and Harvard Business School and sits on the boards of several international companies. He studied at the University of Hohenheim and the University of St. Gallen.
