Maximilian Rothkopf

Dr. Maximilian Rothkopf has been Chief Operating Officer (COO) and a Member of the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd AG since 2019. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s global shipping operations. Prior to joining Hapag-Lloyd, he spent over a decade at the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he became a Partner in 2014 and was a member of the global Travel, Transport and Logistics leadership team. During this time, he advised major liner shipping companies, airlines and globally operating logistics firms on strategy and operations. He holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich and a doctorate in Economic Sciences from the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel.
