Ali Fathollah-Nejad

Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium

Dr. Ali Fathollah-Nejad is Founder and Director of the Center for Middle East and Global Order (CMEG), a transnational research network and think tank focused on geopolitical transformations in Iran, the Middle East and the evolving global order. In this role, he leads research initiatives and partnerships aimed at advancing analysis and policy dialogue on regional politics, international relations and development. He also serves as Lecturer in Middle East politics and international security at the Hertie School in Berlin and as Senior Fellow at the University of Bonn’s Center for Advanced Security, Strategic and Integration Studies (CASSIS). Previously, he held research and expert positions at institutions including the Brookings Institution in Doha, the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and the Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs at the American University of Beirut. Fathollah-Nejad is the author of several acclaimed books and policy studies on Iran and the Middle East and has published widely in international media and academic outlets. He holds a PhD in International Relations from SOAS, University of London.
