Mirjana Spoljaric Egger

Mirjana Spoljaric Egger has served as President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) since 2022. In this role, she leads one of the world’s foremost humanitarian organizations, overseeing global operations in conflict zones and shaping international humanitarian policy. Previously, she served as UN Assistant Secretary-General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Europe and the CIS at UNDP, and held senior roles in the Swiss diplomatic service, including Ambassador for UN affairs. In addition, she has contributed to global governance as a lecturer at the University of Lucerne. Spoljaric Egger holds a master’s degree in philosophy, economics and international law from the Universities of Basel and Geneva.
