Prof. Claudia Franziska Brühwiler

Prof. Claudia Brühwiler has served as Academic Director of the St. Gallen Collegium at the University of St. Gallen since 2024 and is Professor of American Political Thought and Culture. In this role, she leads the academic direction of the Collegium while teaching and researching in the field of American political thought. She has been affiliated with the University of St. Gallen for more than a decade, previously serving as Senior Lecturer, Adjunct Lecturer, and as Personal Advisor to the Rector. In addition to her academic work, she is a guest columnist for the Tages-Anzeiger and previously wrote a regular column for NZZ am Sonntag. She has held several international fellowships, including at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and at the Nanovic Institute for European Studies at the University of Notre Dame. Prof. Brühwiler received her venia legendi in American Studies from the University of St. Gallen and completed further studies in Leadership and Governance at the University of Zurich.
