Thomas Gottschild

Thomas Gottschild has served as Managing Director of MBDA Deutschland GmbH since July 2016 and is Executive Vice President Strategy & Future Growth at MBDA. In this role, he is responsible for the Group’s overall strategic direction, business development, and product innovation, and serves as a member of MBDA’s Executive Committee. Previously, he led key efficiency and transformation initiatives as Executive Group Director Improvement. Prior to joining MBDA, he held various senior leadership roles at Airbus Defence and Space, including Corporate Secretary at executive management level and Head of Strategy for the Space Systems business. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, he was elected Chairman of the Security Committee of the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie (BDI) in February 2025. Thomas Gottschild studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Siegen following his service in the German Air Force.
