Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook

Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook has served as Executive Vice President and Senior Adviser at Bertelsmann Stiftung since 2022. In this role, she is leading two of the foundation’s important initiatives: the German-American Future Forum and a high-level strategy group on Europe. Previously, she was Director and CEO of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and held senior leadership roles at Harvard University, including Executive Director of the Future of Diplomacy Project at the Belfer Center and of the Project on Europe and the Transatlantic Relationship at Harvard Kennedy School. In parallel, she serves on the Alumni Board of Directors at Brown University and is a Non-Resident Fellow at the Global Public Policy Institute. She was named a 2017 Eisenhower USA Fellow. She holds an MPA from Harvard University, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Brown University.
