Martin Blessing

Martin Blessing has served as the Foreign Investment Commissioner of the Federal Government of Germany since 2025, acting as the government’s key representative for promoting and managing international investment in Germany. He also serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Danske Bank A/S (since 2022). He also serves on several advisory boards, including the fintech firm Unzer Group GmbH. From 2016 to 2019, he held senior leadership roles at UBS. Between 2008 and 2016, he was CEO of Commerzbank AG, where he guided the bank through its post-crisis restructuring and return to profitability. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
