Kristina Kallas

Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium

Kristina Kallas is the Minister of Education and Research of the Republic of Estonia, a position she has held since April 2023. A distinguished political scientist and educator, she plays a key role in shaping Estonia’s globally recognised education system. Minister Kallas is a strong advocate for the integration of technology in education as a means to enhance learning outcomes, promote inclusivity, and ensure the continued future readiness of Estonia’s education system. Prior to her government service, Minister Kallas was a researcher at the University of Tartu and served as Director of Narva College at the University of Tartu from 2015 to 2019. As an expert consultant for organisations such as the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, she has advised multiple governments—including those of Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia—on integration policy. Minister Kallas holds a PhD in political science and has dedicated her career to equipping future leaders with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to navigate diverse and multicultural societies.
