Barnaby Skinner

Barnaby Skinner is the Deputy Editor-in-Chief at Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) in Zurich, Switzerland, a position he has held since September 2024. Prior to his role as Debuty Editor-in-Chief at NZZ, Mr Skinner led the NZZ Visuals team, focusing on data-driven storytelling and visual journalism. He also served as Head of Data Journalism at Tamedia from 2018 to 2020 and worked as a data and innovation journalist at Tages-Anzeiger and SonntagsZeitung. Earlier in his career, he was a technology reporter at SonntagsZeitung and co-founded Opendata.ch, advocating for open data initiatives in Switzerland. Mr Skinner holds a degree in history from the University of Basel and is a graduate of the School of Journalism at Columbia University.
