Desmond Lee

Speaker at the St. Gallen Symposium

Desmond Lee is the Minister for National Development and Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration for the Republic of Singapore. In July 2020, Mr. Lee was elected a Member of Parliament (MP) for the West Coast Group Representation Constituency (GRC). He co-chairs the Singapore Together Movement, the Emerging Stronger Taskforce, the Singapore-Tianjin Economic and Trade Council, and the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city Joint Working Committee. Previously, as an MP for Jurong GRC, Mr. Lee served as the Minister for Social and Family Development from 2017 to 2020 and Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and National Development between 2015 and 2017. Mr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Law with first-class honours from the National University of Singapore and a Master's degree in law from the University of Oxford.
